About

Laetitia started playing music at the age of four. At nine, she fell in love with the sound of the cello and decided it would become her life companion. At the age of 14, she was noticed during an audition by famous Russian professors from the TCHAIKOVSKY Conservatory in Moscow, and was unanimously received by this great school.

She trained there for eight years with great masters such as Mstislav ROSTROPOVITCH, Nathalia GUTMANN, Dmitri CHEBALIN of the BORODIN Quartet. She then perfected for three years at the Juilliard School in New York with the famous cellist, Zara NELSOVA.

She won one of the top prizes in the Concert Artist Guild competition in New York City and the Los Angeles International Academy of Music Prize. During these years spent in the USA, she will have the honor of cultivating her musical knowledge with Alexandre SCHNEIDER and Lynn HARRELL.

Coming from a family of artists, very young she played with her pianist sister Nadia Himo.

She multiplies artistic encounters as with stars of the Opéra national de danse de Paris as well as with many artists from multiple horizons of traditional music.

Invited by prestigious festivals, conductors and musicians such as Jean-Claude CASADESUS, Vladimir SPIVAKOV,, Yuri BASHMET, Maria JOAO PIRES, Vadim REPIN, Augustin DUMAY, Alexandre ROUDINE, Didier LOCKWOOD.

She thus travels the whole world crossing the continents from France to Russia, from the USA to Canada, from Latin America to Europe and Israel. Her eclectic personality, always looking to meet new artists, has given her the status of artistic director of international festivals which she has successfully led for several years.

Laetitia Himo also shares the stage with her two life companions, her cello and the prestigious Israeli violinist Sanya KROITOR whom she met in 2014. Since the inseparable couple, they form a most atypical duo, ranging from virtuosity to romanticism, from from classical to klezmer jazz to breathtaking improvisations.

Laetitia recorded several CDs
